How would you like to style yourself this year? Are you going for a classy look or something out of the box? Last season, you saw a string of styles which mesmerized us from the get-go. We loved some funky trends in our closet, from the suede jacket and bags to the bubble skirt; we have seen it all.
This season won’t be any different. That’s because this year is about expressionism, individualism, and sophistication. Let me show you some of the major trends that will be exclusive this season. Let’s check out some of the latest trends that you can put in your closet.
IT'S MOCHA SEASON
Pantone has officially announced the colour of 2025, and yes, you guessed it right! It’s a mocha mousse. Something about this shade is so classy, chocolatey, and luxurious. It’s earthy and sophisticated. All the shades of browns show subtle luxury, which is hard to comprehend.
We were introduced to many styles from the runways and many shades of mocha mousse. Like Akris’s elegant slip slit dress which can be worn as a casual day dress with pair sandals and some elegant gold jewelry to a sunday brunch. Dries Van Noten’s halter neck peplum top was paired with trousers. The entire Hermes collection was brown. So, like I said, mocha mouse will be in this season; you can incorporate it into your closet.
GO SHEER
Sheer has always been on our favourites list. How is it different this season? This season, many designers have opted for the revival version of sheer. I guess we’ll never get bored of it. Well, we are in the softer era of the sheer this season.
One of my favourite designers, Peter, gifted us with the iconic sheer styles from the 2025 spring ready-to-wear collection. Black sheered flared trousers under a boat neck semi sheer top. I loved the Hermes sheer trousers over a dress, sheer skirt with a chain detail on the side. So sheers are in this season.
FRINGE
I thought Fringe was gone for good, but our favourite brand proved me wrong. People! The fringe is back. I cannot tell you how many fringe ensembles and accessories I saw this year; It’s mind-blowing. We have got Sacai’s fringe pullover.
The fringes looked like shoe laces. Altuzarra’s asymmetrical off-shoulder fringe dress rocked on the runway. Many of these ensembles gave a boho but chic aesthetic. The other is an Akris frill dress with a sleeveless jacket.
SPORTY FEVER
Sports have always influenced fashion; we have seen it all through history. The creative directors tapped in gave us some of the amazing sport-casual-formal combos to admire in our closet. This season, we saw Miu-Miu produce some wearable casual sports like the cropped bomber jacket and pleated skirt.
Another look was a colour blocked jacket over a white slip dress. Coperni sports an oversized puffer jacket over a shimmering dress. So, it’s clear this year is the year of surprises and nouveau. Putting bold ideas on the table was the plan for all the creative heads.
ASYMMETRICAL
This one is my personal favourite. As a Libra, I love anything balanced, symmetrical, and harmonious to my eyes, but I tell you, something is so inviting and angelic about the asymmetricity that words cannot justify.
My favourite looks are from the Hermes collection. Hermes sheer slit skirt with zip detail and and we also saw many designers incorporating one legged trousers over dresses for example Louis Vuitton served us with grey halter neck dress with over one legged trousers. Victoria Beckham’s solid structural, draped-looking bodice with still trousers are worth the mention
As the years go by, we always look out for what’s fresh and new. Now, people are individualist, self-aware, and not shying away from what is realistic. The theme this year seems to be owning that truth of individuality. Each trend I have mentioned carries a determined push that defines the stories of current trends and what we might expect in the future.
I am very happy to say that these styles are all trending in 2025. You might see some of the top models and celebrities adopting these looks. This season of 2025 was the year statement but having an individuality in every collection.
